The University of Debrecen has recently signed a cooperation agreement with two Chinese universities in order to establish joint training programs with them. This agreement was signed on Thursday in the presence of the leaders of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and East China University of Technology (ECUT). The joint program projects will hopefully start in 2027.

The first in a row of summer graduation ceremonies of the current year was held by the University of Debrecen on Thursday. There were almost 300 students from the Faculty of Engineering receiving their diplomas at the ceremony, which was held in the Inner Courtyard of the Main Building, while a number of special honors and awards were also presented.
A team of eight students represented the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen at the Middle European Planning Seminar held in Poděbrady, Czech Republic. At the Middle European International Urban Planning Workshop, these participants were able to test their engineering knowledge in an international environment, gaining insight into the unique educational methods and standards of other countries and solving real-world urban planning challenges through hands-on practical projects.
A two-day international conference on the development of the so-called inclusive education projects in secondary schools is held at the Faculty of Education for Children and Special Educational Needs of the University of Debrecen in Hajdúböszörmény. At the event, which is attended by almost eighty participants including the hosts, experts from Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic are to share their experiences on this topic.
The management of the University of Debrecen received a delegation from Ulsan College, accompanied by H.E. Park Chul-min, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Hungary. The now-traditional international student conference hosted by the Faculty of Science and Technology (TTK) at the University of Debrecen covered a wide range of exciting topics from drone wing technology to the urban heat island effect and nanotechnology. An English-language Facebook page named Humaniora has been launched to promote news and events related to the study of the humanities at the University of Debrecen (UD). Recent developments in ancient Greek and Roman epigraphy and papyrology were in the focus of a two-day international conference on epigraphy, held on May 7 and 8, 2026, by the Department of Classical Philology and Ancient History at the Institute of History, Faculty of Humanities (BTK) of the University of Debrecen (UD).
